Oriental, NC Living Shoreline

The N.C. Coastal Federation collected pre- and post-construction data at Whittaker Pointe in Oriental, NC where a 3,400 linear foot living shoreline was installed in 2020 . Vegetation data was collected using the NCVS protocol along 4 transects that spanned the peninsula. Elevation data was collected at each vegetation quadrat and at the shoreline location. Water level data was collected at two locations at the project site, one on the harbor side of the peninsula and one on the river side of the peninsula.
