Grant 79468 (Southern Maryland Resource Conservation and Development Board, Inc.)

Create living shoreline, offshore breakwaters, and marsh habitat near the mouth of the Patuxent River, a tributary of the Chesapeake Bay in southern Maryland. Project will stabilize shoreline along the Lower Patuxent River and provide resiliency and ecological uplift by protecting existing beach strand and creating new marsh and beach habitat for nesting Diamondback Terrapins, as well as ensuring continued military readiness and operational success for Naval Air Station Patuxent River (NAS PAX) helicopter training operations.
