Grant 80471 (Riverkeeper, Inc.)

Remove Holden Dam on Quassaick Creek to protect infrastructure and restore 2 miles of critical freshwater habitat for Hudson River migratory species that are in decline, including alewife, blueback herring, and American eels, American shad, and high-value potadromous species such as black bass and trout. Project will engage 400 residents, protect an environmental justice community, strengthen resilience around infrastructure, and restore habitat for iconic Hudson River species.
