Golden Meadow Oyster stakes - Winter
This resource provides monitoring data on a feature called oyster stakes, which is deployed as a living shoreline column that may be colonized by oysters and other sessile organisms. The stakes were placed on the marsh edge to act as shoreline protection. This site was located at Ducks Unlimited Golden Meadow Marsh Creation project in Lafourche Parish, LA. Because the Oyster Stake structures were completely out of the water, the depth was too shallow to approach individual structures. So, we used photographs to document the presence of oysters and barnacles.
